What do you adopt?
Señorío de Monesterio is a family owned cheese company, producers of 100% artisan goat cheeses made with fresh goat’s milk from herds of small local goat farmers in the region of Tentudía, Extremadura.
Señorío de Monesterio’s philosophy has always been based on respect for the gastronomic tradition of the region. For this reason, the company opted to produce quality artisan goat cheeses, which require a great deal of effort and care in the manufacturing process. As a result, a range of cheeses that are characterised by the use of the best selected raw materials from the best natural resources, as well as the care and maturing of our cheeses.
Located in the region of Tentudía, one of the most southerly areas of Extremadura, the cheeses of Señorío de Monesterio have won several national and international prizes throughout their history that attest to the quality and flavour of their artisan products. Among the European awards, the gold medal in the prestigious Frankfurt International Trophy 2023 competition for its Pedro Ximénez cured goat’s cheese stands out, as well as several medals (silver and bronze) in the World Cheese Awards competition.

What will you receive?
Every four months you will receive a box with two artisan goat cheeses from Señorío de Monesterio:
- Semi-cured Natural Goat’s Cheese (500 gr) – 1st National Prize Trashumantes 2023
Its rind is edible, which gives it a creamy taste with a perfect blend of sweet and salty flavours. It is made with freshly milked and pasteurised goat’s milk, thus preserving all the spontaneity of the wild flora and the open air.
Vacuum-packed so that all its properties remain intact. It is recommended to keep at a temperature between 10 and 12º C. When consuming, it is advisable to consume at a temperature between 16 and 18º C.
- Pedro Ximénez Cured Goat Cheese (500 gr) – Gold Medal ‘Frankfurt International Trophy’ 2023
Cured by hand for more than 45 days, this cheese is immersed for a period of time in Pedro Ximénez wine. This gives its rind a characteristic brown colour, contrasting with its ivory-white interior, and an unmistakable aroma of the famous wine.
Recently awarded the gold medal at the prestigious Frankfurt International Trophy 2023, bronze medal at the World Cheese Awards 2022-23 and First Prize at the National Cheese Fair in Trujillo.
- Ash Cured Goat Cheese (500 gr) – World Cheese Awards Silver 2022-2023
This type of cheese, so genuine in its presence, is covered with edible charcoal and has a succulent contrast in its appearance between the white interior and the black colour of its rind; the ash makes the rind of the cheese ripen and gives it a milder flavour.
Winner of the International Silver Cincho Award and World Cheese Awards Silver 2022-2023, it is recognised for its exceptional quality.
- Semi-cured Goat’s Cheese with 100% Iberian Bellota Ham (500 gr)
A cheese that is a treasure. The best cheese and the best ham fused in a single product.
Goat’s cheese with 100% Iberian Bellota Ham from Monesterio, cured for between 30 and 45 days. This cheese incorporates one of the gastronomic treasures of the Extremadura region: 100% Iberian Bellota Ham. The combination of this goat’s cheese and the highest quality acorn-fed Iberian ham results in a truly exquisite and unforgettable flavour. Ideal with red wine.

- Cured Goat Cheese with Iberian Chorizo (500 gr)
Goat Cheese with Iberian Chorizo cured for more than 45 days. This cheese contains one of the star products of the region of Extremadura, the Iberian chorizo. The combination of this goat’s cheese with the Iberian chorizo sausage gives the palate an unforgettable exquisite flavour.
Vacuum-packed so that all its properties remain intact. It is recommended to keep at a temperature between 10 and 12º C. When consuming, we recommend consuming at a temperature of between 16 and 18º C.
- Cured goat’s cheese with sweet paprika (500 gr)
Goat’s cheese with sweet paprika from Extremadura with a curing period of more than 45 days. It is a creamy and fresh cheese coated with one of the most distinguished and appreciated spices in gastronomy, Sweet Paprika. It has a mild, slightly smoky flavour and is very pleasant to the palate. It is a compact cheese without eyes inside, with a whitish colour that contrasts with its edible rind, coated with paprika from La Vera. It is made with freshly milked and pasteurised goat’s milk, thus preserving all the spontaneity of the wild flora and the open air.
